LIMF was established in 2012 to offer young people and musicians:


- an international musical experience of world-class quality at an accessible price
- a chance to experience London, one of the greatest cultural cities in the world
- opportunities to interact with other young people from all over the world in a supportive and non-competitive environment
- a number of events to develop their musicality in a way that isn't possible at home
- a connection with music from other cultures and different styles
- a platform to develop their "world education"

The London International Music Festival is open to amateur choirs, orchestras, wind bands, dance groups and other instrumental ensembles, with a minimum of 10 performers per ensemble.

Monday 13 July -
Afternoon – OPENING CEREMONY - Meet the other groups attending for social time and a participant's preview of performances, and hear from LIMF's Artistic Director, Professor André de Quadros


Tuesday 14 July & Wednesday 15 July
Adjudicated performances/masterclasses/Friendship performances (1 per ensemble) and massed performance rehearsal
Evenings – Formal performances (1 per ensemble) + massed performance

Thursday 16 July

Closing Ceremony (end time of approx. 6pm).
Please note that this is an outline – the exact inclusions and the order of events is subject to change and may be affected by the type of ensembles that attend.
Preise
Four-day festival-only package includes, per ensemble:
Musical and performance elements:
• Choice of Adjudicated Performance OR Friendship Performance*1 OR Masterclass
• Massed performance with other participating ensembles at LIMF (including rehearsal time)
• Formal public performance (approx. 1 hour)*2
• Conductor attends entire festival for free (1 per ensemble)

*1 The Friendship Performance is defined as one that provides exciting and enriching collaborative performing opportunities in a way that is unique to LIMF. The experience can take many forms and will be discussed with each ensemble during the arrangement process.
*2 If your ensemble is unable to offer a performance of 1 hour, we will discuss alternatives with you including the option of sharing the performance with another ensemble.


Social elements:

• Invitation to opening and closing ceremonies with time for socialising with other participants


Other elements:

• Certificate of attendance per ensemble, and award based on performance for adjudicated ensembles
• Music stands/chairs as required for festival performances
• Hire of standard percussion for festival performances (to be shared among all ensembles) - 4 x timpani, bass drum, glockenspiel, tubular bells, and xylophone
Additional instrument hire will be available for a supplement.


Exclusions:

Transport, including between festival locations, meals and accommodation.
